How I Got A Green Thumb

How I Got A Green Thumb

Hi friend. Thanks for stopping by. Let me tell you...I had a brown thumb for a very long time. I could barely keep a pothos alive! I think that's because:

  1. I didn't commit time to learning about plants and flowers
  2. I felt that I needed proper garden beds to be a real gardener

The change from me going from having a brown thumb to a green one started once we moved into our new house about 2.5 years ago. The property has many opportunities for planted gardens and there were two raised beds, which the previous owner used for growing garlic. I've always wanted to grow dahlias, so out came the garlic and in went dahlia bulbs which I buy from Longfield Gardens. I committed to researching everything I could about growing and tending to these flowers. Countless YouTube videos and Insta stalking ensued. Low and behold, my first crop was a bumper! I love to grow, draw and paint flowers as many artists do. Nature is such a fascination...the colors and compositions; the ephemera of it all.
